The American College of Radiology directs that radiation-producing machines be evaluated by a Qualified Medical Physicist who is board certified. The American Association of Physicists in Medicine recommends an annual Quality System Audit be performed by a Qualified Medical Physicist for radiation oncology departments.
The medical physicist is a resource for ensuring the safe use of radiation and is responsible for the safe and effective delivery of radiation to cancer patients. The medical physicist evaluates radiation mcahines to ensure that patients are not exposed to unnecessary radiation. The medical physicist plays an integral role in the development and oversight of quality assurance programs in the clinical setting.
We assist Radiation Oncology Departments in preparing for ACR Accreditation. We guide you through the process through an audit of your oncology program, identifying any deficiencies, so you can correct them prior to applying for accreditation.
The Quality System Audit evaluates each of the more than 100 standards in the ACR Application, serving as an objective review of your quality program and documentation.
